These Terms explain the rules for using Field.

Field is an embeddable AI chat product for college athletic departments. It helps people ask plain-language questions about verified athletic records, including seasons, teams, games, athletes, and statistics.

Field is operated by Field Athletics, based in Minnesota.

Accepting These Terms

By using tryfield.ai or interacting with a Field chat widget on a customer website, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the site or the embedded chat experience.

The Service

Field has two primary surfaces:

1. The public marketing website at tryfield.ai
2. Field chat widgets embedded on customer athletic department websites

Field does not currently offer a general consumer account product. Most users interact with Field through a customer-deployed embed.

Field generates responses using AI, grounded in verified records provided by the customer institution. The goal is to make athletic history easier to search, understand, and share.

Field is designed for accuracy, but no AI system is perfect. Responses may occasionally contain errors, omissions, or incomplete context.

If you are relying on information for an important decision, official record, publication, eligibility question, legal matter, financial matter, medical matter, or other decision of consequence, you should verify the information against source records or contact the institution directly.

Using tryfield.ai

You agree not to misuse the Field website.

That means you will not:

• Submit false, abusive, or spam content through lead capture forms
• Attempt to access admin areas without authorization
• Interfere with the performance or security of the site
• Scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the site or product in a way that violates these Terms
• Attempt to extract customer data through unintended methods

The contact forms on tryfield.ai are intended for legitimate inquiries from athletic departments, institutions, partners, and people interested in Field.

Using a Field Embed

When you ask a question through a Field embed, your question may be processed and recorded to server logs so Field can operate the product, debug issues, and monitor answer quality.

You are responsible for the content of the questions you submit.

Do not submit personal information, confidential information, protected student information, or anything that would violate the policies of the customer institution hosting the embed.

Field embeds are intended for questions about the athletic records made available through that customer’s implementation.

Customer Data

Customer institutional records remain the property of the customer.

This may include team history, season summaries, rosters, game results, athlete names, awards, and statistical performance data.

Field does not own this data. Field processes and stores it only to provide the service to the customer that supplied it.

By providing records to Field, the customer represents and warrants that it has the authority to share that data and to authorize Field to store and process it for the purpose of operating the service.

Customer data is not shared with other customers and is not used to train public AI models or foundation models.

Usage Limits

Field is designed for conversational use by visitors to a customer’s athletics site. Automated, bulk, or programmatic querying of Field embeds is not permitted.

Field reserves the right to apply reasonable rate limits and usage caps to maintain reliability for all customers. Customers will be notified of applicable limits as part of their service agreement.

Field may suspend access for users or embeds generating query volumes inconsistent with normal conversational use.

Field Intellectual Property

Field’s software, interface, design, branding, website content, product architecture, and related materials are owned by Field Athletics.

You may not copy, resell, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from Field without written permission, except where allowed by law or by a written customer agreement.

AI-Generated Responses

Field uses large language models, currently including Anthropic Claude, to generate responses.

Field’s architecture is designed to ground answers in verified customer data. Even with that grounding, AI-generated responses can sometimes be wrong, incomplete, or phrased in a way that creates confusion.

Responses should be treated as informative, not authoritative.

For official information, consult the source records, the athletic department, or the institution directly.

No Warranty

Field is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Field Athletics does not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly accurate, or available at all times.

We operate Field on a commercially reasonable, best-effort basis and work to keep the product reliable, useful, and accurate.

Field does not verify the accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of records provided by customers. The accuracy of Field’s responses depends on the accuracy of the data the customer provides.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Field Athletics is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages related to your use of Field.

For customers, Field Athletics’ total liability is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the service during the twelve months before the claim.

For non-customer users of tryfield.ai or a Field embed, Field Athletics’ total liability is limited to $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Termination

Customers may terminate their use of Field according to their service agreement.

Field Athletics may suspend or terminate access to the service if a customer or user violates these Terms, misuses the product, creates security risk, or uses Field in a way that could harm the service, customers, or other users.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes related to these Terms or the use of Field will be resolved in state or federal courts located in Minnesota.

Changes to These Terms

Field may update these Terms as the product evolves.

When substantive changes are made, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.

Continued use of tryfield.ai or a Field embed after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
